I joined it when I was still in university: began working the night shift in support. And thanks to the growth opportunities provided by the company, it’s my 14th year working here. My favourite part of Bamboo Group is the people around me, so having the ability to improve the place with my own actions and bring even more good people in is really great.

I initially joined an EdTech startup named SchoolOS as a presales manager. I took a liking to working at a startup right away: you take a lot upon yourself and can self-actualise in many different ways. Bamboo Group values it when you dedicate yourself to the job, when you are honest with the management and work for the common good. As a result, a couple years ago I was moved from the startup to the core of the company group, promoted to the Head of Marketing.

When I just came here, I did mobile development on Cocos2dx. Then I fully switched to native iOS development and learned new frameworks, SwiftUI, and Combine. Eventually I was promoted to Lead iOS developer and am now responsible for iOS and cross-platform Qt development. There’s been a lot of variety in my experience of working at Bamboo Group. You always have something new to learn – there’s no monotonous routine work, since each project presents a new challenge.

When I was choosing a company in 2019, Bamboo Group attracted me with its good reputation, developed marketing, and PR. I was not disappointed after joining: there, I discovered a strong and closely-knit collective with a horizontal team structure. I first came to the company as a Business Development Manager for the Bamboo Agile unit. During my first year, we’d managed to attract new clients, and during the second, increase the team by 50%. I consider our work successful. Starting 2022, I work as the Head of Sales in two units: Bamboo Agile and Bamboo Apps.

I started remotely working with Bamboo in 2015 before going in-house as a UX/UI designer. I already knew some of the people there, so I felt included right away. Now, as the Head of Design, I’m responsible for ensuring a high level of quality in corporate design, developing the brand style, creating and optimising team processes, and many other things. I’d like to keep developing my professional skills to become an even more qualified and in-demand specialist in my field.

I’ve been part of Bamboo for 15 years, and wrote my first projects in PHP. Afterwards I learned Perl, and even met the language’s creator, Larry Wall himself, during our company’s outing at YAPC::Europe 2013. I eventually gained a lot of experience with JavaScript, and now work on e-Commerce projects with major fashion brands. It inspires me both as a specialist and as a young woman.
