Tallinn, Estonia, June 6, 2024 – Bamboo Group announces the receipt of a grant from the European Union to support the development of a new digital product, IVO (In-Vehicle Onboarding application). Led by Bamboo Apps, a Bamboo Group company, the project aims to increase the efficiency of vehicle usage and promote their smart functionality through smart driver assistance.
Between May 1, 2024, and October 31, 2025, Bamboo Group will carry out the innovative product development project, co-financed by a generous grant of €305,427.15 from the European Union. The project will result in the delivery of IVO, a contextual in-vehicle voice assistant that will include an in-vehicle infotainment application and a mobile application.
The infotainment application will act as a smart onboarding system for the driver, providing real-time relevant tips and recommendations through a voice assistant. At the same time, the mobile application will create an augmented reality environment between the smartphone camera, car systems, and infotainment application to assist the driver in learning about the car and its various functions.
This solution is a result of Bamboo Apps’ automotive development expertise, accumulated through collaboration with some of the biggest names in the industry, namely Jaguar Land Rover, Rinspeed, Mitsubishi Electric, Škoda, and others. The IVO product’s target audience includes original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), dealerships, rental and carsharing companies, and commercial vehicles.

The Estonian Business and Innovation Agency awarded Bamboo Group the grant following an extensive evaluation, in line with the Minister of Entrepreneurship and Information Technology’s regulation on supporting entrepreneurial product development.
